During my short family getaway in Taiwan, while I was having my lunch in Taipei 101 Tower, Supermoon messages, photos and videos from friends kept streaming into my phone apps.

I was still pondering if I should have a go at Elephant Mountain, a popular destination to photograph 101 Tower and Taipei skyline, which is only a subway station away follow by a short walk to the foot of the mountain, the only gripe is the effort to climb up to one of the viewing vantage points.

Supermoon fad tips the balance on the decision, I might get a chance to photograph supermoon with 101 Tower together, so on that whim, it was decided that my family go on with their beloved shopping at Ximending, I'll go up Elephant Mountain, hoping for the best.

Along the way to Elephant Mountain

Near the entrance, lots of youth heading the same direction

Little give away that the small entrance up the mountain was on the left side, not until I came up this close.

Climbing up Elephant Mountain to the high vantage point for the cityscape view is not like you need serious climbing gears, just follow the stone-paved steps, it is not difficult, just tiring, imagine climbing up an almost 30-storey high building, could get a little steep at some points, and that's just about it.

Any luck with Supermoon? well, below picture says it all, the moon could be on a different aspect of the mountain or I was too early, nevertheless, glad I'd pull myself up the mountain and capture this shot.
I'd showcase it in my Photo Art website: cho-me.com
